But it makes me wonder, because if this random app is allowed to get out, *how?*There's some backdoor method that is being used to allow it to contact the internet. If there's some rootkit-level malarky going on with said app, then the developer needs to be smacked. And if this app can do it, random malware could definitely do it too. So you're looking to block the program from calling home so that it won't figure out you're not a licensed user? Pretty much.

the registration stays active until you start it while online.Mods: Forgive me in advance if this is taboo somehow. how is this program talking to the internet even though it's being blocked at the software level? I verified that this is the case by physically disconnecting the network cable. all ethical and moral considerations aside. I set it to deny, forever on this app.By rights, that means that this program should not be able to communicate with the internet. But, on restart, it seems that it has, somehow, gotten out, as the program popped back up saying "Please register with a legitimate key".Now. At this point, I'm more curious what kind of backdoor method this program is using to communicate with the outside world. The short story is, there is X program that I tried to register with a googled reg key.The program attempted to get out, and got caught by little snitch.
